Hi Anne, I live in Essex but did some research in Dover a few years ago which led to me meeting up with some of these lovely people and well………to cut a long story short, a lot of them became good friends and I like to keep up with what’s going on with them and in Dover.

That's because, despite all our knockabout postings and spot of lunacy on here, we are all hysterically happy with living in and around this wonderful place. Once you get here and start to enjoy Dover you won't want to be anywhere else. I'd say there are more jewels here than on Queen Liz's Crown

sid and barry are right, to live in dover you need a sense of humour(preferably self deprecating).

having said that dover is the friendliest place i have ever had the pleasure to live in.

And on a slightly more serious note Anne, there are a lot of pubs in the town that put on live music at the weekends where it is easier to meet new people. There are a lot of very nice people in Dover and almost all of those who have moved here will tell you they fell in love with the town because of the people. As to the pubs, The Park Inn has good bands on most Friday's and Saturdays so could be a good place to start.
Do ignore some of the posters on here, most of us lost touch with sanity a long, long time ago.

Very odd in fact, some irish bloke turns up, Ricks evil twin brother hasnt made an appearance in a long while, and lots of drink is consumed until all the blokes kiss and make up... and then we all roll home.. . Crabble Corn Mill is a good one to go to..

Howard, Chris is a contender.. there are still some that out do him i believe in the district and as an ex teacher Anne would probably agree..

If you can read through that , generally everyone here is lovely, and those who havent been unfortunate enough to meet me in person all seem pretty nice, and we all have a good old chin wag when we see each other in town, so it does quickly feel like you know people .
